THE SEALED
SELECTOR

Privacy

Last updated 19 October 2026.

The short version: this site sets no cookies, runs no advertising trackers and asks for none of your details. Apart from the brief technical processing needed to deliver the pages, the only personal data we handle is an email you choose to send us.

Who we are

The Sealed Selector is a cricket card series run by one person in the United Kingdom, who is the data controller for this site. Contact: thesealedselector@gmail.com.

What we collect, and why

Visiting the site. We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless: it records the page, the referring site, the browser type, the country and how quickly the page loaded, and does not identify you or follow you across sites. Cloudflare sets how long these counts are kept. If you would rather not be counted, block static.cloudflareinsights.com or use a tracker blocker; the site works the same. Our host, Cloudflare, also processes your IP address briefly to deliver pages and to protect the site from attack. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure site and knowing which pages are read.

Your picks. "Pick your XI" and the season bar remember your choices in your own browser (local and session storage, under the names tss-pick-v1 and tss-at). They are never sent to us, and you can clear them by clearing this site's data in your browser.

Emailing us. If you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you write, to reply to you. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering you. We keep it for as long as we need to deal with your message, and no longer than 24 months.

The Selection Sheet. Not open yet, and nothing on this site takes your email. Before it opens, this notice will say what is kept, on what basis and for how long, and every email will carry a one-click unsubscribe.

We never sell or share your data for advertising, and we never use device fingerprinting.

Who helps us

Both may process data outside the UK, including in the United States, under the safeguards UK law requires, such as the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the UK's international data transfer agreement.

The Sealed Selector analytics app

To see how each episode performs, The Sealed Selector reads statistics for its own accounts through each platform's official API. It is used by the series' owner alone, for this series alone. It reads no other person's account, collects no viewer's personal data, and shares or sells nothing. The figures (views, watch time, likes, comments, shares and follower counts for each of our posts) are kept in the owner's private files: on their computer, its Google Drive backup and a private GitHub repository, for as long as the series runs.

YouTube

The app uses YouTube API Services, with read-only access (the youtube.readonly and yt-analytics.readonly scopes) to our own channel. Our use of YouTube data is subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. Access can be withdrawn at any time in Google's security settings. The app then stops reading at once, and the data it read through that access is deleted within 30 days. Its authorisation is checked at least every 30 days, and a request to delete YouTube data is acted on within 7 days.

TikTok

The app uses TikTok's Login Kit with read-only scopes (user.info.basic, user.info.stats and video.list) on our own account, under the TikTok Developer Terms of Service and the TikTok Privacy Policy. Access can be withdrawn at any time in the TikTok app's settings, where connected apps are listed; the app then stops reading at once.

Instagram and Facebook

The app reads insights for our own Instagram account and Facebook Page through Meta's APIs, read-only (Instagram: instagram_business_basic and instagram_business_manage_insights; Facebook: pages_show_list, pages_read_engagement and read_insights), under Meta's Platform Terms and the Meta Privacy Policy. Access can be withdrawn in Facebook or Instagram under Settings, Apps and websites; the app then stops reading. To have its data deleted, write to us at the address above.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to receive a copy. Write to thesealedselector@gmail.com; we reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, or 0303 123 1113.

Children

The site asks nothing of visitors of any age. The Selection Sheet, when it opens, will be for readers aged 13 and over.

Changes

When this notice changes, the date at the top changes with it. Anything that affects data you have already given us will be told to you first.
